7 Reasons We Love Carpets (and why you should too)

After a long time of wood flooring being at the top of the pile, it seems carpets are finally getting a look in and creeping their way up everyone’s must-have lists for their homes. Especially in the winter, when the mornings are cold and the floors even colder, a carpet provides the perfect relief. So here are our 7 favourite things about carpets.

1.Safety first

Carpets are the safest form of flooring you can have, especially if you have pets and/or children in the house. They are also a great solution for office spaces, as they reduce breakages, soak up any spills and provide more friction preventing slips and falls.

2.Noise reduction

Forget heels clicking against wooden floors in the office, and the noisy late night return from the pub to your home. Carpet absorbs sound waves and provides a wonderful cushion, so it is kind both on your feet, and on your ears. Whether you have pets, children, or a large sound system or TV, everyone deserves a bit of peace and quiet!

3.Easy maintenance

Yes, carpet means the dreaded job of vacuuming. However, this is little to no maintenance compared to the upkeep of hard wood floors and laminates. Vacuuming and the occasional scrub are all you need to maintain a beautiful carpet.

4.Space

The best way to get the most out of a small space is to add wall-to-wall carpet. If you keep the same or similar coloured carpets in adjacent rooms it will create a better flow to your property and make each room in turn look bigger and a lot more open.

5.Versatility

Whether you want to opt for the top trend of cool greys or are looking for something a bit bolder, carpets offer the greatest levels of versatility of any flooring type. From plain beige living room carpets to bold, stripy stair runners, any style you want to achieve in your property can be done with carpet.

6.A Sense of Luxury

Gone are the days when only hardwood floors were the face of indulgence. If you think about it, when was the last time you saw anything but carpet in a luxury hotel? Carpets are more homely, and with such a huge range of designs available, you’ll always be able to get your hands on something refined.

7.Price

Even thick pile carpets are cheaper than the equivalent in hardwood or laminate flooring, and that’s including the price of underpadding. You can carpet your home, office or rental property at a fraction of the price, and it could be even cheaper if you enter our upcoming competition to win up to £500 worth of carpet.
