How to incorporate 2020 interior design trends into your home

Whether you’re keen to stay on top of what’s hot, or simply feel like your interiors are due an update, here’s our round up of the biggest 2020 design trends and advice on how you can incorporate them into your home.

According to Coloro, 2020 will bring pastel hues such as Neo-mint and Purish Blue into the spotlight. But that’s not all. More earthy tones such as Mellow Yellow and the beautifully bold fusion of pink and purple, Cassis, are also set to make an impact over the next 12 months.

While colour may seem like a bold choice when it comes to flooring, adding a rug or opting for a coloured floor tile is a great way to freshen up a space. And if you’re feeling particularly daring, you could always opt for the Pantone Colour of the Year 2020 – the bright, and ever so bold, Classic Blue.

Over the coming year, pattern is set to remain just as prominent as ever. We’ll see bold, geometric shapes and playful blocks of colour. Scalloped edges and retro-inspired Art Deco shapes are also set to make a comeback.

Tiled flooring is a great way to incorporate pattern into your home, particularly when it comes to hallways. And you’ll often find that vinyl is the perfect choice for areas such as kitchens and bathrooms when you’re keen to stay warmer underfoot.

Texture is becoming more important than ever in creating cosy, warm, and inviting living spaces. A stripped back, Nordic style is set to be big in 2020. Think thick weave or shaggy rugs and large loop carpets. And don’t be afraid to layer; building up texture using rugs, throws, and cushions is the perfect way to create a sophisticated yet cosy space.
